Global Star Software

Global Star was the least media intensive booth I visited. I was greeted by two PR folk and promptly regaled with the least convincing promotional spiel that I’ve ever has the privilege of sitting through, but then again I played Airport Tycoon 2. I was assured Airport Tycoon 3 fixed all of the shortcomings of 2, and lets hope so because could it really get any worse? They also gave me brochures for Mall Tycoon 2, Jet Fighter 5, Rogue Trucker, Emergency Services Sim, and Fire Fighter 259.

In case you didn’t hear, no there was no visual demo of a game, no playable demo, just me at a table with two PR zealots and some pamphlets. I felt like a prisoner being questioned by the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’d have feared for my mortal soul if I hadn’t already sold it for my press pass. In fact even more underwhelming than the presentation and the obvious nervousness of my “hosts” was the fact that the two games that they claimed to be most excited about had very few or no screen shots in the little brochures. Be prepared for that ever exciting and eventful Purgatorial Vacation and go brush off that 486 for the trip.
