Logitech www.logitech.com Logitech was one of three major hardware vendors I got to visit with this year and only one of two that was developing both PC and console controllers. I was literally blown away when I sat down in the meeting room at a table overflowing with new controllers ranging from wireless gamepads and joysticks, to high-resolution mice and keyboards. And while nothing was on display, Logitech has already committed to supporting Sony's new PSP.
PC Controllers With more and more console games getting ported to PC a gamepad is becoming as necessary as a mouse. Logitech has three new controllers headed our way with the flagship Cordless RumblePad 2 leading the way. This sexy gamepad utilizes proven 2.4 GHz technology for no-hassle wireless control. Dual motors give you excellent vibration effects and the controller is estimated to run on two AA batteries for approximately 100 hours. Logitech has also signed a lucrative deal to provide official NASCAR racing wheels for PC and consoles. NASCAR wheels were a former staple of the Thrustmaster line, but now Logitech is going to combine their quality design with a franchise known around the world. Look for more info and images as products are announced.
For the hardcore action gamer who demand the highest level of precision, the MX510 Performance Optical Mouse has arrived. Using the same sleek style and ergonomic design as the 500 and 700 series, this "wired" mouse features a 12-bit data path and captures movement at 5.8 megapixels with an acceleration of 15g making it the most accurate mouse you can currently buy. With a unique holographic red finish (blue in Europe), no two mice look alike.
