not sure if Snitz supports it but VOTING or SURVEYS would be cool.
Also - perhaps a dedicated topic header for ONLINE MATCHMAKING were gamers can:
A: exchange those annoying Wii and DS friends codes B: organize/schedule private game sessions (like the following) - need drummer for Rock Band (360) - need somebody to play Co-op campaign on Gears of War - lonely Kyle seeks psychotic Lynch C: organize public tournaments where GCM readers can play against GCM staff writers at pre-determined times. Possible prizes...
just my mind doing its random wanderings....thoughts?
great suggestions. By voting or surveys you are generally talking about polls correct? I'll look around to see if I can find a mod that works with our version.
The online section should be up within the next couple days if not sooner.
some type of text only site for PSP and mobile phone users would be nice. I'm sure converting everything over would totally suck, but it would be nice while I was standing at the game case to be able to bring up GCM and see what we rated a game. Might not be worth the trouble though - I suspect the percentage of GCM readers using mobile devices for surfing the web is minuscule.

Mobile would be a nice addition...although it would require an extra domain name and TONS of converting. Unless the scores were specifically available and thats all. It might be something to consider once more users have web enabled phones and or....we get pounded with requests.
polls!!! - thats the word. usually multiple choice responses and you get to see a bar graph or something after you make your selection.
mobile GCM = metacritic.com :-)
Polls have been applied to "our" topic and only moderators or the admin can add them in that section. I am trying to figure out the best places to enable them throughout the forum. I can also have a featured poll show up on the front page of the forum and be hidden after the user has voted. The only issue with this is that it spans the entire width of the table. An active polls link has also been placed in the header. The only issue with this section is that the link color is considered "out of forum" and shows up the bright yellow. If I were to change the color, all link colors would be changed. The hover color although is readable. I might have to dig deep in the code and see if i cant correct these issues somewhere.
That would definitely be easy to do if all the scores were in a database - right now everything exists as detached data and text. But we all know 360 dominates :-)
As for the margins - the site content is fixed at 800pix wide which seems to be a comfortable size for computer, PS3, Wii, and cell phone browsing. The margins are only as wide as your stretched browser window.
If GCM ever gets a database we can definitely average the scores by system. We could probably do it by company too and see WHO makes the best games.
