![]() Super Collapse was first released by GameHouse in 2001. Super Collapse is the updated version of the original Collapse series. Super Collapse can be downloaded onto your computer via the internet for a price or you can download a trial version of the game. Now Super Collapse has made its way onto the Nintendo DS. It offers all the same features as the computer version, but now you will be able to play the game where ever you like. Super Collapse offers several block busting challenges. Will you be able to keep up will the rapid rise of the Super Collapse blocks? Better yet will you be able to figure out all the challenging puzzles? Super Collapse 3 has many fun and interesting ways to play. There are tons of puzzles to solve and several different kinds of puzzles to solve. When you start the game you will be able to input your name to save your progress. The main screen allows you to choose several different options. It offers a look at your High Scores and it also has an option that will help you learn how to play called How To Play. The How To Play option will explain to you the rules and all the different options you will see through out the game. You will also be able to view your trophies you will receive as you play the game. The Options Menu gives you the ability to change the level of sound effects and the level of music. There is also a Multiplayer option. The Multiplayer option gives you the ability to Host or Join group play. This option can be really fun. It’s always fun to play with others and compete. One of the main parts of the game is Quest Mode. During Quest Mode you will travel through the world of Super Collapse 3. There are many different areas to explore, starting out with Fledgling Fields and ending at the Super Collapse castle. Each level has its own theme, for example there is the Elevated Ether level where you will play in the clouds. While playing each level you will have to beat each different Star to advance along the path. Each Star is color coded by the type of puzzle you will have to complete. A Red Star indicates a Puzzle and a Blue Star indicates a Classic Puzzle. The levels will get harder the more you advance through out the game. The Quick Play option includes all the different puzzles types that you will be able to play. The first option is Classic play. These puzzles are the classic puzzles that start from the bottom and continue to rise to the top. You will be able to choose which level you would like to begin on. Remember the higher the level the faster and more sporadic the blocks will appear. The next option is the Puzzle mode. I really enjoy this mode its all about thinking. During Puzzle mode you will have to tap the blocks in a certain order. If you tap the blocks in the correct order you will clear the screen. But watch out if one block is left you will have to start again. You will receive a score based on the amount of taps it takes to clear the screen. The fewer times you tap the screen the higher your score. As you complete the different puzzles you will unlock new puzzles. Once you unlock a puzzle you will be able to play that puzzle as many times as you would like. You will also have the option of playing Strategy puzzle while within the Quick Play mode. Strategy puzzles are like the Classic play, however you will need to plan ahead during these puzzles. Each time you tap a block the level of blocks will rise. This mode can get pretty interesting. Don’t worry about time, slow yourself down and ration any bombs you receive. Always keep and eye on the amount of line you have left to destroy. As the levels increase so you the amount of line you will need to demolish. You will also start to notice different colored blocks appearing which adds a whole new level of difficulty. The next mode you will be able to enjoy is the Relapse. While play these levels you will not only have to worry about the bottom rising you will also have to watch the top. This can get pretty tricky; you will have to balance two separate sections of blocks at the same time. As you advance in the Relapse levels you can expect to see all the same difficulties as the other modes. You will experience increased speed, amount of lines to complete the level, and all the various colors of blocks. You will also be able to play the Slider mode. The Slider mode can actually be easy than some of the other modes because your blocks are not stuck in the same place. This gives you more opportunities to destroy block and keep the level down. Continuous mode is Classic mode with a twist. Continuous mode is just that continuous you will not have an amount of blocks to destroy you will only be competing against the clock. As you play Continuous mode you will set your own time records. Trying to beat your record is really challenging and fun. The final mode is Countdown mode. Here you will have to unlock this area so you can play the puzzles. You will have only 2 minutes while playing in this mode to achieve the highest score you possibly can. This can be rough, especially because the blocks appear at random so you can’t always plan ahead on where you should tap. My suggestion it to tap as fast you can and as accurately as you can. While you are playing this game I think you will enjoy all the bright colors and shapes this game has to offer. There are several different backgrounds and areas. I think these areas were created just as you would expect a game of the stature to include. I was not at all displeased with this games graphics. I thought they were fun and all the bright colors made the game cheerful. This type of game really would seem flawed if its graphics were presented in any other way than they are throughout the game. I don’t however think that this game is perfect because there is always room for improvement. They could have added small animated characters along the way to fill in the different Quest areas. Overall I see no reason for anyone to be disappointed with this games graphics. This game offers different sound effects and music throughout. I don’t think you will get very excited about the sound you will here in this game. The music is pretty much the same throughout the game. The sound effects are pretty "cartoony" in nature. I don’t think this game used all of its resources when choosing the sound. They could have made the game better by adding different music to spice it up and add some character. But don’t worry because I don’t think the sound is a very important aspect of this game. You will be way to busy enjoying it to worry about the music. This game in stores today costs $29.99. I don’t think that is asking too much. This game is fun and will keep you preoccupied for hours. It’s not really a game that you can beat. There is always something you will be able to play that is new. This game engages your mind. Whether you’re playing the Puzzle Mode or the Classic mode, you will always be having fun. I do however think that this game is one of those games that will end up in the discount section at most retailers because it just isn’t something that you will run out and say “I have to have that game”. It’s really what I call a filler game, something you keep around when you get tired of playing your “gotta have” games. If you’re an avid fan of Super Collapse you will probably already have downloaded this game on your computer years ago when it first came out. This is just a fun way to make the game portable. My final thought for this game is that I like it and enjoy owning it. Is it one of those stand out there games that everybody’s rushes out and buys? No, but that doesn’t mean that this game is a dud. I really enjoyed it and thought it was really worth its value. This game has endless gameplay. There is no real way to beat this game in its entirety. Out of most of the games I own this is the one that I regularly go back too. This game is a good way to relieve stress and just to have fun. Super Collapse is a classic game that almost everyone can enjoy. If you want a fun game that you will never get tired of this is the game for you. ![]() ![]()
