Also known as M.A.D. - Mastertronic Added Dimension, Tronix, Bulldog Software, Ricochet, Mastertronic Plus, Entertainment USA, Plus-One and Mastervision, this now-defunct home computer game company was heavily active in the '80s. Mastertronic was formed in 1984 by Martin Alper, Frank Herman and Alan Sharam in the UK, and made some major deals with Sega, Melbourne House (eventually owning Melborne House) and the Darling borthers for titles on systems such as the Commodore 64, but when the company was bought by Virgin, shifts in the business eventually led the company to be renamed Virgin Interactive Entertainment.
