Company Information
Z-Axis Ltd. / Underground Development Founded in 1994 by David Luntz, Z-AXIS is currently creating games for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. In the past the company has developed games for the PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PC, and DreamCast. This award-winning studio was acquired by Activision in 2002, and its name was changed to Underground Development (aka just "Underground") in 2008, likely in order to rebrand the studio in reflection of its new direction away from sports and towards a greater variety of genres on next-generation consoles. However, just as the team's first title was finishing up and being prepared to ship -- a PlayStation 3 port of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars -- the company of 45 staffers was closed.
